MP Gerald Keddy Announces Federal Funding for South Shore in Motion Festival
July 22, 2010
Bridgewater, NS – Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament for South Shore – St. Margaret’s, today announced federal funding of $6,700 for the South Shore in Motion Festival Society.

“Our Government is proud to support the South Shore in Motion Festival,” said MP Keddy. “By partnering with organizations to support activities that celebrate our rich cultural diversity, we are fulfilling our government’s commitment to strengthen our communities and support arts, culture and heritage.”

In September 2007, the Government of Canada announced the new Building Communities through Arts and Heritage (BCAH) program to provide Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many community volunteers who help to put this event together,” said MP Keddy. “From the Motorcycle Poker Run to local musical entertainment – sponsored by Heritage Canada - to the Lawn Tractor Races and Truck Pulls, this event certainly offers something for everyone!”

South Shore in Motion is a community event organized by the South Shore in Motion Festival Society that will be held at the Exhibition Grounds in Bridgewater from August 6-8, 2010. It is a motor vehicle event that includes an arts component. The first edition of this event was organized in 2005. For more information, please visit www.southshoreinmotion.ca.
